Celebrating Life 2016 - Theme Announcement

Celebrating Life is an initiative taken by The Daily Star in collaboration with the Standard Chartered Bank which creates a platform for a national competition every year to express creativity, based on film, photography and lyrics on a particular theme. Since its inception, the contest has grown immensely in terms of the number of participants, number of entries and has grown far more diverse, reaching hundreds of thousands of more people across Bangladesh.

Unlike the previous contests, where the theme would be announced sometime during the beginning of the year, the belated announcement this year due to the hectic schedules of both the partners, had come as a matter of concern to the much eager participants nationwide. However, Celebrating Life has recently conducted a press conference at the Pan Pacific Sonargaon whereby the theme for this year- "Youth in Change" had been announced, in the presence of Rafi Hossain, Festival Director of Celebrating Life and Bitopi Das Chowdhury, Head of Corporate Affairs, Standard Chartered Bank, Bangladesh. The duo discussed about the diversity of the program and briefed the listeners about the journey of Celebrating Life. This year will be the ninth consecutive installment of the contest. A few winners from the previous competitions were also present at the event who shared their joyous experiences and shed some light on the importance of such initiatives with the audience.
