Bangladesh U-19 Women lose Pakistan T20I series 3–2
Bangladesh U-19 women's team succumbed to a 3-2 series defeat against their Pakistani counterparts after losing the fifth and final T20I by six wickets at the Cox's Bazar Academy Ground on Friday.
Sent in to bat, Bangladesh struggled from the outset, losing wickets at regular intervals. Apart from Sadia Akter, who top-scored with a 30-ball 28, no other batter managed to reach double figures as the hosts were dismissed for 84 in 19.1 overs.
For Pakistan, Barirah Saif led the bowling attack with figures of 3 for 16, while Rozina Akram added two wickets.
In reply, Pakistan comfortably chased down the modest target, reaching 85 for four in 17 overs. Komol Khan scored 25, Aqsa Habib contributed 21, and Fizza Fiaz remained unbeaten on 18 to guide the visitors to victory and secure the series.
Bangladesh had earlier taken a 2-1 lead in the series after winning the second and third matches but back-to-back defeats in the final two games saw them concede the five-match contest 3-2.
The Bangladesh U-19 side will now travel to China on December 15 for a three-match T20I series against the hosts, scheduled to be held in Hangzhou on December 17, 19, and 21.
