BCB denies PSL return for Mustafizur, Rana
Bangladesh pacers Mustafizur Rahman and Nahid Rana will not rejoin their Pakistan Super League (PSL) sides after the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) withdrew their No Objection Certificates (NOCs), a board press release confirmed on Thursday.
Following the conclusion of the third ODI against New Zealand, the BCB medical staff reviewed Mustafizur’s condition and decided that the left-arm pacer would need to undergo an immediate scan for further assessment. According to the release, the 28-year-old will then begin a rehabilitation programme under the supervision of the BCB medical team, ruling him out of the remainder of the ongoing PSL season.
The BCB also confirmed that Nahid Rana will not be released for the PSL. The decision was taken to allow the young fast bowler adequate time to prepare for Bangladesh’s upcoming Test series against Pakistan next month, the release said.
