Latham to captain as New Zealand recall key bowlers for Bangladesh tour
New Zealand have named their squads for the upcoming white-ball tour of Bangladesh, with the return of several frontline pacers from injury providing a timely boost ahead of the series.
Pacers Matt Fisher, Will O’Rourke and Blair Tickner headline the comebacks, having recovered from injuries that sidelined them during their home summer. O’Rourke, who had been out with a back issue, returns for the three-match ODI series, while Fisher (shin) and Tickner (ankle) have been included in the T20I squad, with Tickner also named in the ODI setup.
New Zealand will be without regular white-ball captain Mitchell Santner, who is unavailable due to his Indian Premier League commitments with the Mumbai Indians. In his absence, Test skipper Tom Latham will lead the side.
The tour will feature three ODIs on April 17, 20 and 23, followed by a three-match T20I series. The first two ODIs will be held at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Dhaka, with the third in Chattogram, which will also host the opening two T20Is on April 27 and 29 before the series concludes in Dhaka on May 2.
