All six matches of the third round of the Dhaka Premier Division Cricket League 2025-26 were heavily affected by rain on Sunday. Four encounters were decided under the DLS method, while the remaining two were postponed to reserve days.

Among the completed matches, Bashundhara Strikers defeated Gazi Group Cricketers by 10 runs, Prime Bank Cricket Club overcame Legends of Rupganj by 20 runs, Gulshan Cricket Club beat Agrani Bank Cricket Club by 60 runs, and City Club edged Dhaka Leopards by a single run -- all determined under the DLS method.

Meanwhile, the matches involving Mohammedan Sporting Club against Rupganj Tigers and Abahani against Brothers Union were moved to reserve days after the minimum 20 overs in the second innings could not be completed. Both games are scheduled to resume on Monday from the point of interruption.

At the Cricketers Academy, Bashundhara Strikers, sent in to bat, posted 235, thanks to half-centuries from Nurul Hasan Sohan (73) and Imranuzzaman (59). In reply, Gazi Group Cricketers reached 89 for three in 19 overs when play was halted due to bad light and rain, setting a revised target of 194 in 34 overs.

Gazi Group seemed on track for victory after reaching 173 for six in the 30th over, but a dramatic collapse saw them lose their last four wickets for just 10 runs, being bowled out for 183. Leg-spinner Aminul Islam Biplob took 4-39 to guide Bashundhara to their second win in three matches.

At BKSP-3, Legends of Rupganj posted 227, propelled by Habibur Rahman Sohan’s 61 off 56 balls. Prime Bank reached 108 for two in 25.4 overs before rain interrupted play. As the minimum 20 overs had been completed in both innings, the match was awarded to Prime Bank under the DLS method. Shahadat Hossain Dipu remained unbeaten on 61 off 71 balls, securing Prime Bank’s third consecutive victory and placing them atop the points table.

At the Bashundhara Sports Complex, Gulshan Cricket Club posted 301 for five in 50 overs after electing to bat, powered by Shahadot Hossain Sobuj’s 132 off 121 balls and Sharear Sakib’s 75 off 94 deliveries. Agrani Bank’s chase was repeatedly disrupted by rain, bad light, and a wet outfield. Set a revised target of 193 in 26 overs, Agrani Bank collapsed, losing eight wickets for just 43 runs to finish at 132 all out. Mahfijul Islam Robin top-scored with 53, while Abdur Rahim, Naim Hossain Sakib, and Farhad Reza each claimed three wickets for Gulshan, handing the team their first win of the tournament.

At BKSP-4, Dhaka Leopards posted 306 for nine in 50 overs, with Zakir Hasan scoring 137 off 134 balls and Moin Khan adding 66. City Club were 96 for one in 20.1 overs when rain intervened. As they were ahead of the DLS par score by just one run, City Club were awarded the win, marking their second victory in three matches.

At the ULAB Cricket Ground, Mohammad Naim’s blistering 145 off 136 balls, including five fours and 12 sixes, alongside Yasir Ali’s unbeaten 69 off 44 balls, propelled Mohammedan Sporting Club to 345 for six in 50 overs. Pacer Mrittunjoy Chowdhury then reduced Rupganj Tigers to 53 for five in 16.5 overs, but rain prevented any further play, and the match was moved to the reserve day.

Similarly, Abahani’s match against Brothers Union was halted by rain. Brothers had reached 49 for one in 12 overs before play was stopped. Earlier, Abahani had posted 283 for six in 50 overs, with half-centuries from Mahidul Islam Ankon (83 off 113 balls), S M Meherob Hassan (77 off 76 balls), and Mosaddek Hossain, who remained unbeaten on 62 off 40 balls.
