Sooryavanshi becomes youngest, fastest to 100 T20 sixes
India’s teenage sensation Vaibhav Sooryavanshi became the youngest and fastest batter to hit 100 sixes in T20 cricket, even though his Indian Premier League (IPL) side Rajasthan Royals suffered a crushing 77-run defeat to Gujarat Titans in Jaipur yesterday.
Sooryavanshi reached the milestone in style, smashing Mohammed Siraj for a massive straight six off the very first ball he faced. He took just 514 career deliveries to reach 100 T20 sixes at the age of 15 years and 43 days -- also making him the youngest player to achieve the feat.
He surpassed Austria’s Karanbir Singh, who previously held the record after reaching the landmark in 813 balls. Kieron Pollard, who took 843 balls, sits third on the list.
Romario Shepherd (845) and Seekkuge Prasanna (850) round out the top five.
With three sixes and as many fours in his 36-run knock yesterday, the left-handed youngster now has 102 sixes in T20 cricket from just 19 matches since making his debut in 2024.
Sooryavanshi is currently the fifth-highest run-scorer in IPL 2026, having amassed 440 runs from 11 matches at an average of 40 and a staggering strike rate of 236.55, including a century and two fifties.
