Bangladesh forward suspended for 15 matches over Maldives fight

Bangladesh forwards Al Amin and Mirajul Islam have been handed 15-match and two-match suspensions respectively by the FIFA Disciplinary Committee over incidents during the Maldives-Bangladesh match in the Diamond Jubilee International Football Tournament on June 7.

The bans will apply to Bangladesh’s senior competitive matches as well as International Tier 1 friendly matches, according to BFF media manager Sadman Sakib.

Al Amin, who has already represented the senior team, was shown a straight red card after twice pushing the referee while protesting his decisions. Mirajul, who scored Bangladesh's goal in the match, was also sent off after allegedly abusing the official from the bench.

The match ended with a wider confrontation involving players and officials from both sides. The situation deteriorated after the final whistle, with the referee requiring a security escort from the field.

FIFA had previously fined Mirajul and Bangladesh team manager Shaheen Hasan over the incident. BFF had also formed an investigation committee after receiving FIFA's initial communication.

It could not immediately be confirmed whether any Maldives players or officials have received similar suspensions.
