Hamza makes immediate impact as Sheffield claim first league win

Hamza Choudhury made an impressive full-match debut for Sheffield United as the Blades secured their first league victory of the season with a dramatic 3-2 win over Bolton Wanderers at Bramall Lane on Tuesday.

Just a day after completing his permanent move to Sheffield United, Hamza was handed an immediate starting place in midfield by manager Chris Wilder.

The Bangladesh captain responded with a composed and energetic performance as the Blades twice came from behind before Romelle Donovan struck a 93rd-minute winner.

The match could hardly have started worse for the hosts. Bolton took the lead inside the opening minute when Xavier Simons found the net, but Sheffield United responded almost immediately. Japhet Tanganga levelled in the fourth minute to restore parity.

Hamza, operating in midfield, played a key role in helping Sheffield United maintain their composure during a frenetic opening period. The 28-year-old completed 45 of his 50 passes for a 90 per cent accuracy rate and was particularly effective defensively, winning all four of his tackles.

Bolton regained the lead in the 67th minute when Sam Dalby finished to make it 2-1. Sheffield United, however, needed only a minute to respond.

Patrick Bamford equalised in the 68th minute, setting up a dramatic finish at Bramall Lane.

With the game heading towards a draw, Donovan delivered the decisive moment deep into stoppage time, scoring in the 93rd minute to complete Sheffield United's comeback and give them their first league victory of the campaign.

The win moved Sheffield up from 14th to 10th on the table.
