Bangladesh breeze past Uzbekistan, stay perfect in Women’s Junior Asia Cup hockey

Bangladesh continued their winning run in the Women's Junior Asia Cup hockey with a 4-0 victory over Uzbekistan in Hulunbuir City, China, on Tuesday.

The third straight win took Bangladesh to nine points and put them in contention for top spot in the five-team Challenger Pool. They face Hong Kong in their final match tomorrow, while second-placed Kazakhstan, with two wins, take on Pakistan.

Bangladesh, who had beaten Chinese Taipei and Pakistan in their previous games, took the lead inside three minutes through Sharika Rimon's penalty before Liza Akter doubled the advantage from open play in the 14th minute.

After goalless second and third quarters, Lima added a third from open play before Sharika converted another penalty in the 51st minute to complete the rout.
