Bangladesh women's kabaddi team suffered a 25-21 defeat to Nepal in the fifth and final match of the five-match Test series at the National Kabaddi Stadium in Paltan on Thursday.

Having already wrapped up the series 3-1, the final fixture was a dead rubber for Bangladesh. The hosts matched the visitors throughout the contest but trailed 12-11 at half-time.

Both sides continued to battle evenly after the break and were locked at 17-17 midway through the second half before Mabe Chakma produced a superb raid to earn three points and put Bangladesh ahead.

However, the women in red and green failed to protect their lead as Nepal responded strongly, making Bangladesh all out to collect five crucial points before going on to win the match.

Despite the defeat, Bangladesh lifted the series trophy. Bristi Khatun was named player of the series, while Nepal captain Menuka Kumari was adjudged player of the match.
