The nation had to wait for 69 months to witness a long overdue justice is being carried out for the mass murders and rape in 1971 led by war criminal Motiur Rahman Nizami.

The legal battle in the war crimes case against Jamaat-e-Islami ameer Nizami has drawn to a conclusion as the Supreme Court on May 5 dismissed his petition for reviewing its verdict that upheld his death penalty. The International Crimes Tribunal-1 delivered the verdict on October 29, 2014.

Without showing any remorse, Nizami said on several occasions that after all these years, no one should be charged with such offences.
