Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi today greeted his Pakistan counterpart Nawaz Sharif on his birthday, notwithstanding the extremely strained ties between the two countries.
"Birthday wishes to Pakistan PM Mr. Nawaz Sharif. I pray for his long and healthy life," Modi tweeted.

Sharif turned 67 today.
Last year on this day, Modi had travelled to Lahore on his way back from Kabul on an unscheduled visit to wish Sharif personally. Modi also attended the marriage ceremony of Sharif's kin.
