Clinton extends lead among Democrats: poll

Frontrunner Hillary Clinton has stretched her lead over fellow White House hopeful Bernie Sanders in the race for the Democratic nomination after impressing in the party's first televised debate, a poll showed yesterday.  Clinton got the backing of 49 percent of respondents, up from 42 percent last month, according to the NBC/Wall Street Journal poll. Support for Sanders is down from 35 percent to 29 percent, according to the poll.
