Even as a child, Din Muhammad Shibly knew what he wanted to be when he grew up. Not a doctor, not an engineer but a photographer. He always wanted to capture the simple moments of life in his camera. Instead of going for commercial photography that was sure to get him more recognition and much more money, Shibly decided to focus his passion to documentary photography, bringing to the forefront often neglected social and global issues. From the last 11 years, he has been documenting the effects of climate change in the country, a task not willingly taken by most photographers. the Star spoke to the photographer about his first camera, his biggest achievement so far and much more!
Recipe for Being a Good Photographer
Having technical ability is very important. No matter what camera you have, no matter what genre you prefer,you need to have the ability of providing the visual narrative and need to understand the politics of representation. Also there is no alternative to studying other photographers' work who are working in the same genre.

Landscape photography and portrait photography.
First Camera
In my childhood we owned a Yashica Electro 35 camera which my father would never allow us to touch. Later when I started a basic course on photography, my dad bought me a Seagull DF-2 SLR camera.
Biggest Achievement So Far
Being able to teach, and impart my knowledge and experience to students is my biggest achievement.
