Abducted Khulna businessman rescued in Rajbari

The Khulna businessman was rescued early in the morning. However, police declined to give details.

Sub-Inspector Sukumar, investigation officer of the case, would not reveal whether the Tk 10 lakh ransom was given to Jahurul's captors or anyone was arrested.

The businessman was undergoing treatment at a local clinic, family sources said.

A gang allegedly led by notorious criminal Monirul Islam abducted the businessman at gunpoint from his Khalishpur residence on February 15 and later demanded ransom from his wife Ferdousi Mariam.

She lodged an FIR (first information report) with Khalishpur Police Station.
