A noble gesture

Three hundred disabled people got their identity cards due to a noble gesture by Magura District Bus and Minibus Owners' Association and Action on Disability and Development (ADD), a non-governmental organisation (NGO).

The card holders will be able to travel by bus with 50 per cent fare

The cards were distributed at a function on the public library premises here on Friday.

Women and Children Affairs Secretary of Bogia Union Federation for the Disabled Monira Khatun was in the chair. Magura Deputy Commissioner Md Harisuddin was chief guest. ADD Programme Coordinator in the United Kingdom (UK) Ana Cambal Johnston, Magura Zila Parishad Chief Executive Officer Sardar Amir Ali, Social Welfare Department Deputy Director Md Habibur Rahman, Bus and Minibus Owners' Association General Secretary General Baharul Islam, District Merchants' Association Secretary Humayun Kabir Raja and the district NGO Coordinator Md Abdul Halim addressed as special guests.
