Human chain for PSTU VC's removal
Teachers, students and staff of Patuakhali Science and Technology University (PSTU) formed a human chain in front of Patuakhali Press Club in the town yesterday demanding removal of its Vice-chancellor Dr Prof AKM Abdul Hannan Bhuiyan.
About 500 people took part in the demonstration from 11 am to 12 noon.
This was followed by a press conference at the press club, which was addressed by AKM Mostafa Zaman, convenor of the PSTU Teachers Council.
They then held a rally in front of the Deputy Commissioner's office and handed over a memorandum to the DC, addressed to the chancellor of the university.
The rally was addressed by, among others, AKM Mostafa Zaman, Hemayet Uddin, Moniruzzaman Hiron and Jalal Munshi.
The VC who left the campus before the Eid-ul-Azha is yet to return.
