BNP man held for stamp forgery freed within hrs
Release of a FIR-named accused within hours of his arrest has created a sensation in the town.
Jalal Uddin Gazi, a BNP leader and Shovnali Union Parishad Chairman in Assassuni upazila in Satkhira, was arrested by DB Sub Inspector Ruhul Amin from a Dhaka-bound coach at Baganchra Bazar in Sharsha upazila in Jessore Monday Morning.
He was arrested in connection with a stamp and deed forgery case, filed by BD with Satkhira thana on January 20.
He was released Monday night by Satkhira DB police.
When contacted, Police Superintendent Rafiqul Islam said over cell phone that Gazi was arrested on suspicion. He was released as he was sick due to old age complications, the SP said.
Gazi was among 19 accused in the case.
