40 hurt in clash over land in Jamalpur
At least 40 people were injured, seven of them seriously, in a bloody clash between two rival groups over a land dispute at Sardarbari village in Motherganj upazila in Jamalpur on Monday.
Police sources said there was a long dispute over land between Sakat Ali and Romiz Ali. On Monday evening Sakat Ali and his supporters armed with lethal weapons went to the disputed land. When Ramiz Ali's men resisted Sakat's supporters, a bloody clash ensued.
Seriously injured Ramiz Ali, Nurul Islam, Altafur Rahaman, Nurul Amin, Abdul Gani, Sohel Mia and Abdul Mannan were admitted to Mymensingh Medical College Hospital (MMCH) while other injured were admitted in to Motherganj hospital, Sharisasari hospital and Jamalpur General Hospital.
Two separate cases were filed with Motherganj police station. None were arrested.
