Attack protested
Hundreds of people brought out a procession and paraded the main streets of the town protesting attack on fellow villagers by rivals at Shirishdia village in Sadar upazila on Monday.
The processionists chanted slogans against the attackers and demanded immediate arrest to the culprits.
Witnesses and locals said Provash Kumar, 47, Sanjoy Kumar, 22, and Uzzal Kumar Biswas, 38, were admitted to Magura Sadar Hospital after being hacked by rivals in a row over fishing at a local baor (water body) at around 8 am on the day.
On contact, Magura Sadar police station officer-in-charge told this correspondent, "I heard about the incident and asked the agitating villagers to file a written complaint with police."
