Fog disrupts ferry service

Four ferries, Shah Ali, Shah Keramat Ali, Khanjahan Ali and Shah Paran, with a large number of passengers and other transport could not move from mid-river for several hours, according to Bangladesh Inland Water Transport Corporation (BIWTC) officials at Paturia.

Besides, more than 1,000 vehicles with about 40,000 passengers including women and children remained stranded on both sides of the Padma.

About 400 vehicles coming from Dhaka were stuck at Paturia in Manikganj and 500 vehicles queued up at Daulatdia in Rajbari.
