A Cruel Twist of Fate

Once a meritorious student, Mamun is now a beggar. He had lost everything in a train accident. He doesn't have much of his previous self left, save for his excellent handwriting which helps him to earn some money from the passersby.

Mamun says, trough his writing, that he stood first in the Bachelor of Arts examination in 1998 under the National University.
He lost both his legs in a train accident on his way to Dhaka in search of a job. The accident has also taken away his voice.
We have not been able to verify the information that Mamun has provided us, as he can neither speak nor have any contact address. Asked about where he lives, he points to a hand-driven rickshaw, which he considers his home.
Mamun uses chalk-pencils to write his feelings on the streets of the city. He goes to different areas of Dhaka to beg, and early February this year he was seen in front of the Bangabandhu International Conference Centre, where his beautiful handwriting drew an array of admirers. They gave him alms. But Mamun wants to have a life where he won't have to beg any more.
