Popular content creator Kaarina Kaisar has passed away at a hospital in Chennai, India.

Her father, former national footballer Kaisar Hamid, confirmed the development to Prothom Alo on Friday night.

Kaarina was recently flown to Chennai by air ambulance for advanced treatment after being placed on life support due to severe liver complications.

Kaisar Hamid also announced the death of his daughter in a Facebook post around 1:30am Saturday.

“It is with great sorrow that I inform you that my beloved dear daughter Kaarina Kaisar has just passed away while receiving treatment in Chennai. If my daughter caused any mistake or hurt anyone, please forgive her,” said Hamid in the Facebook post.

Earlier, family sources said Kaarina had been unwell for several days. What initially appeared to be a common illness later deteriorated rapidly.

After being admitted to hospital, doctors reportedly detected an infection and confirmed that she had contracted Hepatitis A.

As her condition worsened, she suffered liver failure May 8 and was subsequently placed on life support.
