BD women need a win
A morally-shattered Bangladesh women's team will look to salvage some pride as well as keep their chances of qualification for the 2016 World Twenty20 alive when they take on Sri Lanka in their last match of Group B today. The match will begin at 3:30pm today at the Sylhet Cricket Stadium.
Bangladesh languish at the bottom of the group with zero points from three matches, while Sri Lanka, along with India, are on two points each. West Indies and England have already booked their seats for the semifinals.
Bangladesh, who have lost all three of their matches by big margins, will need to win this match and ensure a healthy run-rate to snatch the fourth position, in order to have any chance of playing the qualification match for the next World Cup.
Coach Shane Deitz was looking to take the positives from the previous matches into the last match of the group.
"Batting has been our chief concern, while bowling and fielding have been reasonably good in this tournament. Our players played too many dot balls, which is not ideal for Twenty20 cricket. They can play better cricket in 50-overs matches than Twenty20s," said the Australian.
On the other hand, Sri Lanka, who had started the tournament with a win against India before losing against West Indies and England, will be looking to end the tournament on a high with a win.
