The Civil Aviation Authority of Bangladesh (CAAB) has stepped up security at all airports across the country.

The announcement was made today by CAAB Chairman Air Vice Marshal Md Mostafa Mahmud Siddiqui during a meeting with members of the Aviation and Tourism Journalists’ Forum of Bangladesh (ATJFB) at the authority’s headquarters.

“We have received a letter from the Police Headquarters regarding the enhancement of security. Following these instructions, we have issued a security alert,” he said.

He added that while the reasons behind the directive are best addressed by the Police Headquarters, CAAB has implemented necessary measures to ensure heightened security across all airports.
