Planning Minister MA Mannan said this in a briefing after a meeting of The Executive Committee of the National Economic Council (Ecnec) today.

The minister said the good news is that both food and non-food inflation have come down.

Food inflation rose to 5.08 per cent in July from 5.45 per cent in June.

Non-food inflation stood at 5.80 per cent last month which was 5.94 per cent in the previous month.
