BKMEA publishes election schedule

Bangladesh Knitwear Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BKMEA) today published the election schedules to elect the leaders for the trade body for a two-year tenure.

The newly formed election board decided to hold the election on November 12 this year at BKMEA's head office in Narayanganj, according to a statement from the BKMEA today.

As per the schedule, the last date to be valid voters of the association is September 13, publication of the final eligible candidates' names is October 10 and after scrutiny of the preliminary voter lists on September 19.

Mohammad Ali, former president of the Federation of Bangladesh Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FBCCI), has been made the chairman of the election board of the BKMEA for 2021-23 tenure. 

Probir Kumar Saha, a former director of the FBCCI, has been made chairman of the appeal board of the election, the statement also said.

Currently, AKM Salim Osman is the president of the BKMEA.
