Financial institutions to remain closed next Sunday, Wednesday

The non-banking financial institutions (NBFIs) will remain closed for two days on August 1 and 4, Bangladesh Bank said today.

The central bank has issued a circular to this effect, citing that it has taken the decision following the recent surge of Covid-19 infections and deaths in the country.

The Bangladesh Bank also asked them to operate their regular activities from 10am to 3pm on August 2, 3, and 5.

Currently, financial institutions are operating from 10am to 2pm.
