SAIYN -- new platform launched to create awareness on farm mechanisation
Smart Agro-Technology Innovation Youth Network (SAIYN), a platform to create awareness on knowledge-based farm machinery, was launched on August 26.
The platform aims to spread modern agricultural machinery and technology ideas among youth.
Kanas State University, and the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, USA, in the Department of Farm Power and Machinery under the faculty of Agricultural Engineering and Technology of Bangladesh Agricultural University launched the SAIYN, the platform said in a press release.
Md Monjurul Alam, professor of the Department of Farm Power and Machinery, gave the welcome speech at the online launch programme.
Prasanta K Kalita, director of the Appropriate Scale Mechanization Consortium; Prof Lutful Hasan, vice-chancellor of Bangladesh Agricultural University; AKM Zakir Hossain, student affairs adviser of the Bangladesh Agricultural University; Subrata Ranjan Das, executive director of ACI Motors and national adviser of SAIYN, spoke at the event.
Agricultural universities and other technology universities along with private sectors will take different initiatives and activities to make agriculture mechanisation popular among the young generation through this platform.
