Idcol wins FinanceAsia’s top sustainability award for Bangladesh
The Infrastructure Development Company Limited (Idcol) has won the “Best Sustainable Bank in Bangladesh” award at the FinanceAsia Awards 2026.
This marks the fourth consecutive year that Idcol has taken home the prestigious regional honour.
M Maftun Ahmed, company secretary of Idcol, accepted the award at a ceremony held at the Conrad Hong Kong, Admiralty in Hong Kong recently, according to a press release.
As one of the Asia-Pacific region’s most respected financial benchmarks, the FinanceAsia Awards recognise Idcol's sustained excellence in mobilising capital for renewable energy, energy efficiency, and climate-resilient infrastructure.
Alamgir Morshed, managing director of Idcol, said, “Winning this award for the fourth consecutive year powerfully endorses our mission.
“It proves that disciplined, sustainability-linked finance can scale effectively from utility-scale solar projects to industrial decarbonisation and clean energy solutions for local farmers.”
“We owe this honour to our partners and team, and we view it as a mandate to drive even greater impact,” he added.
Idcol’s sustainability strategy encompasses grid decarbonisation, industrial transition finance, and climate-smart agriculture, helping drive Bangladesh’s green transition.
The FinanceAsia Awards win caps a stellar year of global recognition for the institution.
At The Asset Triple A Sustainable Infrastructure Finance Awards 2026, Idcol was named “Project Finance House of the Year”, while its Pabna BCRECL solar project clinched the “Renewable Energy Deal of the Year”, further cementing Idcol’s expertise in structuring high-impact, bankable clean energy projects.
