AKIJ Resource launches ‘AKIJ Mediplex’ in Mirpur 10

AKIJ Mediplex, a concern of AKIJ Resource, has launched its first diagnostic centre in Mirpur 10, Dhaka, marking the group's entry into the healthcare sector.

The centre was inaugurated on Wednesday by AKIJ Resource Chairman Faria Hossain, according to a press release.

With the launch, AKIJ Resource has expanded its operations beyond construction, consumer goods, technology and services into healthcare.

According to the company, the diagnostic centre is equipped with AI-based technology and will offer a range of diagnostic and laboratory tests under the supervision of experienced physicians. Home sample collection and automated vital check facilities will also be available.

Speaking at the inauguration, Faria Hossain said, "Healthcare is a sector directly linked to people's quality of life. We believe that ensuring quality healthcare alongside Bangladesh's economic progress is equally important. It is from that conviction that we have decided to make long-term investments in the health sector."

She further added, "Our goal is not merely business expansion, but to build a healthcare network capable of delivering reliable and modern medical services to people across different regions of the country. AKIJ Resource has always prioritized investment in sectors that contribute to improving people's lives. We believe our initiative in healthcare will also play a positive role in developing the country's medical infrastructure and creating employment."

AKIJ Mediplex Chief Business Officer Abu Zafor Iqbal Ahamed said, "The demand for modern healthcare in Bangladesh is growing rapidly. But many people still have to wait long or travel far for quality diagnostic services and specialist care. We want to create a service environment where patients will receive fast and reliable diagnostic services through a combination of technology, expertise and human services."

According to the company, AKIJ Mediplex will offer specialist doctors' chambers, laboratories equipped with German technology, a digital reporting system, online appointment facilities, home sample collection services and international-standard laboratory services.

Among others, AKIJ Resource Chief Business Development Officer Towfique Hasan, Deputy Chief Operating Officer Sohanur Rahman Sohan and Cluster CFO Ashfaque Chowdhury attended the inauguration ceremony.
