Bangladeshi photographer Pinu wins Sony World Photography national award

Bangladeshi photographer Pinu Rahman has won the National Award for Bangladesh at the Sony World Photography Awards 2026, according to an announcement.

The organisers said the award recognises outstanding photographic work from across participating countries.

Pinu Rahman’s winning image, a portrait, highlights elements of local culture through detailed composition and visual storytelling.

The photograph features textured natural elements and contrasts, creating a strong sense of character and identity.

The organisers said submissions were received from more than 200 regions worldwide.

They said the recognition reflects the growing presence of Bangladeshi photographers on the global stage.
