Bata global CEO meets Bangladesh's prime minister

Panos Mytaros, global chief executive officer of Bata Group, met Prime Minister Tarique Rahman during his visit to Bangladesh.

Faria Yasmin, managing director of Bata Bangladesh, also attended the meeting, says a press release.

The discussion focused on Bangladesh’s economic outlook and opportunities in the footwear sector.

The prime minister acknowledged Bata’s contribution to the country’s economy and encouraged further expansion of exports.

He also expressed support for the company’s continued growth in Bangladesh.

Panos Mytaros highlighted Bata’s ongoing and future investment plans in the country.

He said the company aims to strengthen local capabilities and contribute to industrial development.

The discussion also covered corporate initiatives, including programmes focused on children and community development.

Senior officials of Bata Bangladesh, including finance director Elias Ahmed and human resources director Malik Mehedi Kabir, were present.

Bata said it remains committed to expanding its operations and offering accessible products in Bangladesh.
