BBCC, Canadian High Commission discuss trade, investment, and green collaboration
The Bangladesh Business Chamber of Canada (BBCC) has engaged in talks with the High Commission of Canada in Dhaka to strengthen bilateral trade, attract Canadian investment, and promote sustainable business collaboration.
The meeting, held on October 26, was led by Alamgir M. Rahman, President of BBCC, who met Debra Boyce, Counsellor and Senior Trade Commissioner, along with Trade Commissioners Md. Kamal Uddin and Quazi Golam Farhad.
Discussions focused on expanding market access for Bangladeshi exports in Canada, developing talent exchange programmes, and exploring investment opportunities in renewable energy, particularly solar and wind sectors. Alamgir M. Rahman also highlighted BBCC's ongoing initiatives to connect Bangladeshi businesses with Canadian partners.
The BBCC delegation, which included advisers M. A. Muttaleb (Khokan) and Iqbal Hamid Quraishi (Adnan), briefed the Canadian officials on plans for an Investment Summit in August 2026, aimed at showcasing Bangladesh's investment potential to North American stakeholders.
The Canadian Trade Commissioners welcomed the initiative and expressed interest in supporting future collaborations that align with sustainable and inclusive growth goals.
