British Columbia School celebrates 20th anniversary, inaugurates Junior Campus
British Columbia School marked its 20th anniversary on Tuesday with the inauguration of its new Junior Campus, celebrating both its legacy and future growth.
The event was attended by Abdullah Al Mamun, regional development manager for Bangladesh at Pearson Edexcel, and Tahnee Yeasmin, director of business development at the British Council Bangladesh. Their presence highlighted the school's long-standing links with international education bodies.
The programme began with the national anthem. Students then took to the stage with a series of performances. These included a poem recitation, songs, and dance performances by children under the age of three. Parents watched as the young learners performed with confidence and ease.
Speaking at the event, Principal Lisa Saha said the school places strong emphasis on early childhood development. She said British Columbia School follows a holistic approach from the early years, helping children explore their abilities, build emotional strength, and grow with confidence.
Chairman Quazi Rafquat Hossain outlined the school's long-term vision, which he described as a "PG to PG journey," from playgroup to postgraduate success. He said the school supports students throughout their academic journey through mentoring, career guidance, and collaboration with international organisations and global universities.
In his closing remarks, Faizul Alam stressed the importance of early learning. He said the foundation built in the early years shapes cognitive development, character, and lifelong learning habits, and plays a key role in later academic and personal success.
The celebration reflected on two decades of academic progress and reaffirmed British Columbia School's commitment to nurturing confident learners for the future.
