Career Pro BD celebrates Cybersecurity Awareness Month 2025

October has been globally recognised as Cybersecurity Awareness Month since 2004, initiated by the US Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) and supported by the International Telecommunication Union (ITU).

In alignment with this global movement, Career Pro BD, an organisation dedicated to youth skill development, celebrated the month in Bangladesh through a series of awareness and training programs, in collaboration with the ICT Division and sponsored by Amber IT.

Carrying the core message "Let's Build a Better Cyber Society," the key event titled "ICT Division Presents Cybersecurity and Social Awareness Program 2025 powered by Amber IT" was held on Wednesday at the American International University-Bangladesh (AIUB). The program aimed to enhance cybersecurity knowledge and social awareness among young learners through interactive discussions and hands-on sessions.

Around 400 students participated in the event, with nearly 300 registering in advance and the rest joining through on-spot registration. Organizers announced that all participants would receive digital certificates (e-certificates) from Career Pro BD in recognition of their engagement.

Held for the fourth consecutive year, the event was organized with the cooperation of AIUB Computer Hub, OSA AIUB, Uni Global, and Ahmed Foods.

Speaking as Special Guest, Manzur Mohammad Shahriar, Project Director of the DEIED Project under the Hi-Tech Park Authority of the ICT Division, commended the initiative, saying: "Such awareness programs are very timely, and I thank Career Pro BD for taking this initiative. The government is taking multifaceted steps to strengthen cybersecurity, including formulating related laws and regulations. We highly appreciate activities that promote cybersecurity awareness."

Other distinguished guests included Professor Dr. Saiful Islam, Vice Chancellor, AIUB; Laila Nazneen, Advisor, Career Pro BD; Dr. K.M. Hasan Ripon, President, Trainers' Association of Bangladesh; Md. Murad Hossain, COO, Texas Team Group; Zia Uddin Mahmud, COO, Creative Business Group; G.M. Faruk Ahmed, cybersecurity expert and trainer; Sadman Sadik, social media content creator and educator; Al Islam, Senior Officer, Amber IT; and Hafizullah, Head of Operations, Synesis IT.

Through this initiative, Career Pro BD reaffirmed its commitment to equipping Bangladesh's youth with the skills and awareness needed to navigate the digital age safely and responsibly — contributing to a secure, informed, and resilient cyber society.
