Consular Corps in Bangladesh elects new executive committee

The Consular Corps in Bangladesh (CCB) has elected a new executive committee for the 2026–2027 term at its annual general meeting.

The meeting was held at Lamda Hall of Gulshan Club in Dhaka on Sunday, says a media release.

Nasreen Fatema Awal, honorary consul general of Mongolia, was elected president of the organisation.

Reshadur Rahman, honorary consul general of Poland, will serve as immediate past president.

Shahab Sattar, honorary consul of Cyprus, and Shakhawat Hossain, honorary consul of Portugal, were elected vice presidents.

Kazi Shah Muzakker Ahmadul Hoque Ishmam, honorary consul of Croatia, was elected secretary general.

Masud Jamil Khan, honorary consul of Ireland, was elected treasurer.

Executive committee members include Faruque Hassan, honorary consul of Greece; Mohammad Iftekhar Jonaed, honorary consul of Vanuatu; Arik Morshed, honorary consul of Lao PDR; Mostafa Quamrus Sobhan, honorary consul of Uruguay; and Morshedul Alam Chaklader, honorary consul of Eswatini.

The newly elected committee said it will work to strengthen cooperation among honorary consulates and promote diplomatic engagement in Bangladesh.
