Gulshan Club Olympiad 2025 kicks off with grand opening ceremony

Fifth Inter-Club Sports Carnival brings together 22 clubs, 1,200 athletes for 10 days of competition

Gulshan Club Limited has inaugurated the 5th Inter-Club Sports Carnival - "Gulshan Club Olympiad 2025", a ten-day sporting festival uniting Bangladesh's leading clubs in a celebration of friendship, teamwork, and sportsmanship.

The grand opening ceremony, held at the Tennis Court of Gulshan Club, was graced by M.A. Quader (Anu), President of Gulshan Club Limited, and Tareq Rahman, Chairman of the Olympiad Organizing Committee, along with distinguished guests including Naser Ezaz Bijoy, CEO of Standard Chartered Bank; Mamur Ahmed, Head of Distribution, Prime Bank PLC; Ekram Kabir, Chief Communication Officer, BRAC Bank PLC; and Shamsul Islam, Deputy Managing Director, Mutual Trust Bank PLC.

In his address, M.A. Quader reaffirmed Gulshan Club's commitment to promoting family values, sportsmanship, and community spirit, noting that the Olympiad "aims to unite clubs across the nation through sports, inspiring the youth toward healthy competition and an active lifestyle."

This year's edition features 17 sporting events—including new additions Padel and Weightlifting—with remarkable participation from women members. Nearly 1,200 athletes from 22 prestigious clubs, forming 24 teams, will compete across 34 categories.

Tareq Rahman, in his welcome speech, highlighted the Olympiad's growth and significance, describing it as "a platform that reflects friendship, teamwork, and the unifying spirit of sport." Dr. Wahiduzzaman (Tamal), Advisor to the Organizing Committee, expressed gratitude to all participating clubs, sponsors, and partners for their continued support in making the Olympiad one of Bangladesh's most anticipated inter-club sporting events.

This year's Diamond Partner is Standard Chartered Bank, while Prime Bank PLC, BRAC Bank PLC, and Mutual Trust Bank PLC serve as Platinum, Gold, and Silver Partners, respectively. Event partners include T-Sports (Broadcasting Partner), BRUVANA (Hydration Partner), DOUR Apparel (Jersey Partner), and York Hospital (Health Partner). Media partners include Channel i, ATN Bangla, Ananda TV, Boishakhi TV, DBC News, Prothom Alo, The Daily Star, The Business Standard, Daily Sun, and The Daily Observer.

The opening ceremony featured an energetic acrobatic performance that set the tone for the ten days of competition ahead.

The Gulshan Club Olympiad 2025 will conclude on November 8 with a Grand Prize Distribution Ceremony followed by a Cultural Evening, celebrating friendship, fitness, and the enduring spirit of sportsmanship.
