Shadharan Bima Corporation hands over Tk 50 crore dividend to govt
Shadharan Bima Corporation has handed over a dividend of Tk 50 crore for the 2025–26 fiscal year to the government.
The cheque was presented on Tuesday, December 23, 2025, to Finance Adviser Dr Salehuddin Ahmed. The handover was made by Mohammad Jainul Bari, retired secretary and chairman of the board of directors of Shadharan Bima Corporation.
The event was attended by Nazma Mobarek, secretary of the Financial Institutions Division, and Md Harun-Or-Rashid, managing director (additional secretary) of Shadharan Bima Corporation. Others present included Md Azimuddin Biswas and Md Sayeed Kutub, both additional secretaries of the Financial Institutions Division, Sheikh Farid, joint secretary of the division, Bibekananda Saha, general manager (finance), and A K Maksudul Ahsan Bhuiyan, deputy general manager (central accounts) of Shadharan Bima Corporation.
In addition to the dividend, Shadharan Bima Corporation paid Tk 230 crore and 61 lakh to the national exchequer as income tax and VAT during the 2025 income year.
The corporation has maintained a consistent record of contributing to the government treasury. Over the past 10 years, it has deposited around Tk 2,880 crore through dividends, income tax, and VAT.
For the 2025–26 fiscal year, Shadharan Bima Corporation provided the highest dividend among state-owned corporations and commercial institutions under the Financial Institutions Division.
