UITS celebrates student achievements under UIHP
The University of Information Technology and Sciences (UITS) has proudly celebrated the success of six student startup teams who secured grants under the University Innovation Hub Program (UIHP) - the country's largest university-based student startup incubator, supported by the World Bank and the Bangladesh Hi-Tech Park Authority.
The Institutional Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) of UITS led the university's participation in the program, which ran from July to October 2025. Out of eleven UITS teams that joined the UIHP incubator, six were selected for the final round and collectively awarded grants totaling Tk 170,000 at the Launchpad by UIHP@UIU event. Each of the winning teams was recognized for its innovation and impact within their respective cohorts.
To honour their achievement, UITS organised a special celebration on October 20, 2025, attended by distinguished guests including Mr. Mohamed Ali Hossain, Member of the UITS Board of Trustees and Director of PHP Family; Professor Dr. Md. Abu Hashan Bhuiyan, Honorable Vice Chancellor, UITS; and Professor Dr. Siraj Uddin Ahmed, Treasurer, UITS.
Other notable attendees included Mr. Sobhit Bikash Barua, Executive Director, PHP Family; Mr. Numayer Amir Mizan, Member, PHP Family; Mr. Mohammad Kamrul Hasan, Registrar, UITS; Engineer Md. Safaet Hossain, Director, IQAC; Mr. Abu Zafar Md. Mohsin, Additional Registrar; Mr. Md. Tarikul Islam, Proctor; Dr. Md. Mofazzal Hossain, Head of the Department of Pharmacy; and Mr. Shuvo Das, Advisor, Student Welfare & Additional Director, International Desk.
The achievement marks a milestone in UITS's ongoing efforts to foster innovation, entrepreneurship, and experiential learning among students. The university continues to support young innovators through capacity-building, mentorship, and partnerships with national and global institutions.
