BGC Trust University Bangladesh hosts Hult Prize 2025-26 campus round grand finale
The campus round grand finale of Hult Prize 2025–26, the world’s largest student-led social entrepreneurship competition, was held at BGC Trust University Bangladesh (BGCTUB) on January 27. The event provided a platform for students to present innovative business ideas aimed at creating positive social impact.
The championship title was secured by Team “NectarFlow”, led by Sharup Datta. Team “The Sensory Store”, led by Oishi Datta Barna, emerged as the first runner-up, while Team “Somadhan”, led by Saif Uddin Babar, achieved the second runner-up position. The winning teams will now advance to the national rounds.
The event took place at the IQAC Conference Room of the university and was jointly hosted by Rizwan Siddique, Deputy Campus Director of Hult Prize BGCTUB, and Kazi Fatema Yeaismin, a student at the Department of Pharmacy.
The programme was graced by Prof. Dr Md Manzoorul Kibria, Vice-Chancellor of BGCTUB, as the chief guest. Prof. Dr Md Hazrat Ali Miah, Controller of Examinations and Treasurer, attended as the special guest, while Dr S M Shoaib, Acting Registrar of the university, was present as the guest of honour. The supervision of the event was led by Campus Director Ishfat Mahmod.
The judging panel of the competition comprised Md Abdur Rashid Sohag, Founder & CEO, Pupil School Bus Ltd., and President, Startup Association of Bangladesh; Arafatul Islam Akib, Founder, Startup Chattogram, and Managing Partner, Ocean Venture; and Md Nahid Hasan, Senior Territory Manager, Unilever Bangladesh Limited.
In his address, Dr Md Kibria stated that the innovative thinking, leadership qualities, and sense of social responsibility demonstrated by young people are key drivers in building a smart and sustainable Bangladesh. He emphasised that international platforms like Hult Prize enable students to showcase their potential on a global stage.
