Liberty Is A Song

Nothing is greater in individual and collective life than liberty. And nothing can be nobler than a celebration of freedom in all its dimensions of colour and thought. On Victory Day this year, there was something more than a commemoration of the liberation which burst upon us in all its fervour in late 1971. And that was hope renewed and aspirations rekindled nationwide about the future. As these images so eloquently demonstrate, it was the future, founded on the strength of the past, which beckoned on 16 December. Liberty became a soul-stirring song.
