Flowers Galore

The three-day International Flower Exhibition and Conference 2018 came to an end on December 8. The event, organised by Dhaka Chamber of Commerce & Industry in partnership with USAID and Bangladesh Flower Society (BFS), was geared towards attracting investors to the flourishing sector. In a splash of colours and fragrances, the flower trade showed why the local market for it hovers around Tk 1,200 crore a year. During the event, around 70 national and international small entrepreneurs displayed their finest blooms. Gerberas, roses, cacti, marigold and some elaborate displays took visitors to a different world full of scented hues. This event, touting Bangladesh as a “land of flowers”, was held at the Bangabandhu International Conference Center in Dhaka.
