A Grand Display of Visual Poetry

Ushering in brand new avenues for Bangladeshi dance artistes, and inspiring multi-cultural exchanges with the global dance community, the international dance biennial, Ocean Dance Festival 2019, concluded in Cox’s Bazar recently. With the theme of “Bridging the Gap”, several hundred international dancers, choreographers, scholars, practitioners and researchers took part in the festival. Relaying the rasa of romance together with the rhythm of ghoongro, the dancers kept the audience hooked with their performance of diverse dance styles. The four-day (November 22-25) festival, organised by Nrityajog, the Bangladesh Chapter of World Dance Alliance–Asia Pacific, with support from the Ministry of Cultural Affairs and Bangladesh Tourism Board, also featured seminars, lecture demonstrations and much more.
