A Life Lost to The Show of Dominance

Between the late hours of October 6 and early hours of October 7, a group of Chhatra League leaders beat Buet student Abrar Fahad to death. The brutality shook the entire nation and protests spread like wildfire. Thousands of Buet students took to the streets demanding justice for Abrar. They also drew graffiti and staged street shows depicting how Abrar was killed. They said the murder was not an isolated incident and that BCL leaders frequently tortured students in the university dormitories over trivial matters. As part of the protests, Buet students and teachers took a mass oath to prevent all kinds of torture on the campus.
