Stuck at Square One

More than a year after the students’ demonstrations for safe roads and the Traffic Weeks observed by citizens and law enforcement, very little seems to have changed in the city in regard to road safety. Not only are pedestrians and commuters still risking their lives by jaywalking and crossing streets with cars rushing by, even members of law enforcement agencies are seen breaking basic road safety rules: not wearing helmets while on motorcycles or travelling against the traffic. With city dwellers and even law enforcers violating traffic laws, tragic accidents keep occurring on the regular.
