Deputy secretary found dead in Dhaka’s Bailey Road

A deputy secretary of labour and employment ministry has been found dead at his residence at the government officers' quarter on Bailey Road in Dhaka.

Police recovered the decomposed body of Abdul Quader Chowdhury (59) from a room in his flat yesterday evening, Monirul Islam, officer-in-charge of Ramna Police Station, told The Daily Star today.

Locals informed the law enforcers that they were suspecting something wrong as a strong odour was coming from the house, the OC said.

Abdul Quader, hailing from Bhola, was living there alone, the SI further said adding, he might have died of illness several days back.

The body has been sent to Dhaka Medical College morgue for autopsy.
