11 held with bombs in Jessore Shibir office

Police arrested six activists of Islami Chhatra Shibir, and five others with 11 live bombs and bomb-making materials raiding an underground bunker in Shibir office at Basundia Bazar in Jessore town yesterday night.

Ilias Hossain, officer-in-charge of Jessore Kotwali Police Station, said on information, police conducted a drive around 8:00pm and arrested Billal Hossain and Nuruzzaman.

They also arrested four more Shibir men and five others including Amin, Tito and Badshah from a hole underneath  the office, with the bombs and bomb making materials.

They were constructing a hidden bunker under the office and planning to carry out subversive activities, said the OC.

A case was filed in this connection.
