2,400kg Hilsa fry seized in Narayanganj

Bangladesh Coast Guard yesterday seized 2,400 kilogrammes of Hilsa fry from a passenger launch at Gopchar of sadar upazila in Narayanganj.

On information, a team of coastguards of Pagla station under the supervision of Lieutenant Commander Sayeed M Kased raided a passenger launch MV Mahin Rifat-1 and found the Hilsha fries worth Tk 7.20 lakh, which was later handed over to the district fisheries officer for taking legal action, said a press statement of Bangladesh Coast Guard Pagla.

The Hilsha fries were distributed to different Madrasas, orphanages and poor people by Marzina Begum, fisheries officer of Narayanganj district.
