9 killed in road crashes
Nine people died and 26 others were injured in road accidents in four districts yesterday and Tuesday.
In Narsingdi, four people were killed and another was injured as a BRTC bus and a CNG-run auto-rickshaw collided head-on at Dorikandi in Belabo upazila yesterday evening.
The identities of the victims could not be known immediately. The injured was taken to Narsingdi Sadar Hospital.
In Rangpur city, two people were killed and 25 others injured as a bus plunged into a roadside ditch on Rangpur-Kurigram highway in Tajhat area yesterday.
The deceased were Mozammel Haque, 35, and Abdur Rahman, 30. Both hailed from Kurigram.
In Chittagong, Mohammad Saju, 25, of Bogra died after falling off a running pick-up van in Gumdhandi Fultol area of Boalkhali upazila yesterday.
Meanwhile Joni, 17, of Ichhanagar area died after being hit by a truck while he was working at a garage in Moijjartek area of Patiya upazila.
In Jhalakathi Sadar, Fatima Aktar, 13, daughter of Dualal of Baukathi died when a motorcycle hit her at Baukathi on Tuesday.
